Agents for Change Program

At FarOut Wilderness, we believe in leaving the wilderness in a better state than we found it. Our Agents for Change Program invites every traveller to take small, meaningful actions that collectively make a big impact. As a camper venturing into BC’s backcountry, you have an opportunity to leave rarely patrolled regions in a better state. You are an agent for change.

Wilderness Trash Challenge

Every day, plastic waste from the ocean washes up along Vancouver Island’s rugged coastline and drifts inland. While you’re out exploring, we encourage you to collect any litter or marine debris you find. We provide reusable trash bags in every vehicle. Just fill up one, and bring it back to us at the end of your trip.

Reducing Water Waste

We’re committed to reducing our water use. We use low-water car washes whenever available to clean our vehicles. At the end of your trip you’ll have an option to mark unused linens and towels to avoid unnecessary washing. Our vehicles are always cleaned with biodegradable products to protect waterways

Equipment Repair & Reuse

Our equipment repair and reuse program is part of our commitment to reducing landfill waste and extending the life of high-quality equipment. From tents and chairs to kitchen kits and custom overland mods, we repair what we can, donate what we can’t, and recycle the rest.

We are proud advocates of Leave No Trace camping practices across all of our adventures. Whether you’re picking up a camper rental in British Columbia or heading into the backcountry, we ensure every guest is equipped to minimize their impact and protect BC’s fragile ecosystems.
