Day 1: Victoria to Port Renfrew

Time: 2 Hrs

Distance: 110kms

Collect the keys and go through a brief handover process to get to know your vehicle. Once stocking up on supplies if you didn’t use our stocking service you take the Highway 1 out of Victoria before turning off and following BC-Hwy 14 through Sooke to Port Renfrew. The drive is beautiful and very scenic and its worth stopping along the way, a few suggestions:

Day 2: Port Renfrew to Carmanah

Time: 3Hrs 10

Distance: 112kms

From Port Renfrew, say good bye to the Tarmac and head to Carmanah. Its logging and gravel roads from here for a few days.

The drive is fairly easy but you will need to watch your speed on gravel roads, especially as a number of them are still active logging routes.

Overnight in the gorgeous Carmanah Valley.

Day 3: Carmanah to Tofino

Time: 4 Hrs 30 Mins

Distance: 230kms

After spending the night in the gorgeous Carmanah Walbran, you are heading towards Port Alberni, Once you reach there, you hit the Tarmac again and continue down the Hwy 4 to Tofino/Ucluelet.

You have the option of staying in either of these 2x iconic towns situated 30kms apart from each other.

Day 4: Tofino/Ucluelet

 

Spend the day exploring these 2x towns and Pacific Rim National Park – there is plenty to see and do around here so check out our page on this area.

In the afternoon participate in a food tour around Tofino – sampling some of the local delicacies whilst learning about its rich history and culture.

 

Day 5: Tofino to Comox Valley

Time: 3Hrs 15mins

Distance: 230kms

This is a fairly easy to drive from Tofino to Comox and you should stop at Cathedral Grove on the way to stretch your legs and admire the ancient cedar forest.

Day 6: Comox Valley to Campbell River

Time: 1Hr

Distance: 60kms

You have a short drive ahead, so we recommend exploring the area in the morning and leaving after lunch or late afternoon.

You can either take the Hwy 19A the scenic route or the more direct Hwy 19.

Day 7: Campbell River

Today you will enjoy a 6 hour Whale watching cruise where you will have the opportunity to spot some of the gorgeous majestic creatures that populate the waters around Campbell River – lunch will be provided as you take in the breathtaking scenery.

Keep an eye out for Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, Bears, Steller Sea Lions and more.

Day 8: Campbell River to Strathcona

Time: 1Hr

Distance: 50kms

With another short drive we recommend spending most of the day exploring, elk falls provincial park, Snowden forest or the Sayward forest. There are a host of activities to do in this area, so let us know what you are interested in and we can provide some suggestions.

 

Day 9: Strathcona

Spend today doing some of the incredible hikes around Strathcona and soaking up the stunning views.

 

 

Day 10: Strathcona to Victoria

Time: 4hrs 30 mins

Distance: 315kms

Head back to Victoria today and unfortunately leave your vehicle with us, but hopefully take home some amazing memories.
