Day 1: Collect your vehicle and bikes (if you have booked them)
Overnight: Forest campsite outside Duncan
After your handover briefing with your adventure consultant you are on your way – 1st stop is Duncan – a relatively short drive north of Victoria.
Duncan is a small town known as ‘the city of totems’ named as such due to 80 totem poles located around the town – erected in the late 1980’s.
Day 2: Duncan trails
Pack up camp in the morning and spend the day exploring the trails around Mt Prevost, there are a number of different trails suited to all levels of riders.
In the late afternoon, head off north again to Nanaimo, overnighting outside of the Nanaimo town.
Day 3: Nanaimo Trails
Note: We will hit Nanaimo again on the return leg – so we suggest choosing one of the areas to explore today and then another for the return. There are plenty of amazing spots to choose from
The Abyss/Extension Ridge
In the Late afternoon take the drive to Campbell river and pitch camp. Budget 1Hr 30 mins- 2 Hrs for this drive.
Personally I prefer some of the smaller camps located in the area, but the best ones can’t be reserved 🙁 so you have to get there early. If you don’t want to risk it, then we can recommend a number of reservable site for you.
Day 4+5: Campbell river
Don’t worry, you don’t need to pack down camp this morning, we overnight here for 2 nights allowing you a more easy start to the day and a chance for a lie in – if so desired.
Campbell river has loads of great options and we could easily spend days here, there are varying distances away from camp so make sure you plan accordingly.
The pump house
Quinsam River Trails
Beaver Lodge Forest Lands
Day 6: Campbell river – Mt Washington
Pack up camp and drive to Mt Washington its only an hours drive – so you have plenty of time to catch some trails in Campbell river area before heading out.
Day 7: Mt Washington – Nanaimo
After running a few trails it’s time to drive to Nanaimo, tomorrow you will need to return the vehicle, so if you prefer Nanaimo over Mt Washington, make sure you leave time today to catch some of the trails missed on the way up.
Day 8: Time to return to Victoria and hand the vehicle back 🙁 Rest those legs!
